Haunting 'Machans'

Last week, I happened to talk with Suresh over phone. He was my college hostel roomie and one among my close buddies of my college. We had an extended call and recalled some of the memorable moments of our college days. It is over four years since we last met, so it was a fun filled chat. Here are a few things that I would like to record and share, perhaps a tonnes of stuffs that cant be posted.. lolz :-)

Certainly College life introduces many such interesting people. Though our first year hostel life stated with a lot of homesickers including me, begging our wardens to let us go home every fortnights. However, when our friendship circle groomed our fun level increased, thereby our frequency of going home went down gradually.

All wild adventures, experiments, endless fun, friendship, pulling legs..., To impress the Andhra beauties, me and Suresh went on an intensive Telugu language training with our fellow Andhra roommate, who eventually couldn’t withstand us and quite the hostel. Neither our language improved nor that beauty got impressed :-)

Most of us had a wonderful moustache and would like to have a clean shave but we need some excuse to our parents so we taking advantage of our ragging season, and blamed our seniors adding that they insisted to do so. At the same time, I can’t forget the girl who ragged me in my 2nd day; she nagged me to do a clean and jerk with her ballpoint pen. If she is married, I pity for her hubby.

A mass Mess boycott and obtained a week of holidays, the so called "Home-sick holidays". Every time we go home, we used to carry our mini-drafters though we hardly touch in our holidays, but being proud to showcase as big Engineers. Our b'day bash are most memorable ones, the b’day dude cant escape from the big bangs and socks soaked water "holy bath".

The VBC cinema theatre a perfect place for adda, occupying the last rows of the hall, amidst the thunderous blow of whistles. The pillow fight caused us a lot, as the floor was left unattended by the cleaner with loads of sponges and a couple of investigations from warden. The hostel room windows are the most entertaining stuffs, as it converges direct to the main block of the girls' hostel, though hardly one can able to find a girl. But Suresh again proved to be best in using technology, as he fetched us a binocular and a laser pointer, sometimes we are overwhelmed by some missies replying with their laser light.

Imitating like Professor and lecturers is the most favoured pastime, the famous ones being Mr. Rajkumar (ECE), Mr.Ravichandran (CSE), Mr. Senthil kumar (mech), Ms.Kavitha (EEE), Mr. Giri (Maths) the list is endless. AECOFEST the annual college festival felicitate by a kollywood (Tamil cinema world) celebrity. Sometimes the claps and whistles many times embarrassed the disciplinary committee and even the chief guest itself, notably Mr. R. Partheepan as a big roar of "Ullae Veliyae" embarrassed him and he said why me?

Every one will have a unique nickname, the name will be just right for that particular person boasting their so called SPECIAL quality. Wonderful days and memories, the guys whom once called as mama, machi are all professional now in different companies, in different countries, in different positions. But definitely these memories will certainly flash in, when our road intersect.

Let your dream bring such sweeter moments of your life.

Love & peace,
Jb
