A much delayed post, haven’t logged in quite a many days. Mostly because of the stack of tasks at work tagged to my name. These tasks tend to grow faster especially when you are out of office. Last one month was very enjoyable, memorable amidst being hectic and busy days. Ten days off to India, was mainly to attend my sister’s betrothal function, a big family ceremony and a get together for all of us. For me it is a memorable trip to home and second time in 2010. A third visit is scheduled in the last weeks of October to attend the marriage and diwali celebrations.
After a long time I experienced true heat, created by weather and by a few relatives. The former is typical in summer days and the latter are typical during some ceremonies. I don’t really understand why people dig all ancient problems especially when people come to their home to invite for such functions. Except that I got a chance to visit all my relatives after several years, since I accompanied my parents during these visits.
This time to have a freaky experience I chose to land in Chennai airport and decide to take a train home. Not to mention the eagerly waiting congested swarms of locals, taxi drivers and hotel reception crews with garlands looming for their overseas guests. The train to home was even more exciting, after 3 years I’m riding this “Indian rail” was so cool and there is enough time to get used to the local environment and to tear the NRI mask. The loud atmosphere contributed by blaring cellphone ringtones, the shaking overcrowded bogies, coffee tea vendors, hawkers selling almost all kind of things from batteries, toys, fruits, not to mention the redolent toilets; however though one can get an awesome panorama of the speeding trees, green hills, fields and the villages – I’m loving it, no ICE, TGV, Eurostar trains can give you such an experience :-)
Driving my car is one among the most thrilling activities which makes me high. This time I clocked around 2200kms in less than a week. That includes a day visit to Bangalore which was chill and a chance to see the traffic picked roads being squeezed with more traffic. The new and grand flyovers have just served the purpose of shifting the bottlenecks.
My phone was busy most of the times, as much of my friends couldn’t meet me in person. Only my college buddy and my good friend Jayaprakash joined me for most of the times during this trip. We had a 2 day pilgrimage to Tirumala. The crowded weekend delayed our “darshan”, after an extended waiting time of 7.5 hours - we had an exceptionally great view of Sri Lord Venkateswara – with his power and serenity always been a moving experiences of my life. Every time it humbles me even more.
And now back to Germany, with loads of Eatables, sweets and spices. My colleagues liked the sweets a lot and wanted to know the name of it, how can I translate this sweet name “Khaju Milk Halwa” in German? Now the routine days with my beautiful world - laptop, project, breads, guitar, mobile, travel, photos….
Love & Peace
