360˚ of my 2010

The year 2010 has been a very vibrant, challenging and meaningful for me. Here I try to log some important moments of them.

January:
  • Starting the New Year at home with parents & sister; went to temple to seek blessings and lot of wishes to accomplish in the just born New Year.
  • This is my maiden visit to home in 2 years, after I moved to Germany for my higher education. Went as a student now back home as a fresh graduate.
  • Pongal celebrations were at its best. Still missing our ancestor’s (grandfather’s) agriculture land where we host a big fest and celebrations with our farm employees.
  • My Mummy’s birthday and she is getting younger :-)
  • Escaped Germany’s intense winter
February:
  • Back in Germany. COLD, COLDER, COLDEST…
  • Same old Freising town, Harinath, a wonderful friend, is my host for a few days.
  • Back in same old apartment
  • Full time unemployed – I call it as full time job hunter
March:
  • Deeply concentrating on my job hunt
  • Refreshing subjects and previous projects
  •  Love this late night telephone calls with Friends all over the globe.
  • Plan B – to get back to Bangalore and find a job.
  • Couple of interviews calls and a lot of rejections as well.
  • Working in weekends to cover my bills.
April:
  •  Had a wonderful break in Vienna, Austria
  • Couple of travels through Germany for interviews
  • Loads of ripen apples in my Garden – no time to pick and eat
  • Finally got the news, I got a JOB
  • Employment legal formalities begins
  • Signs of summer
May:
  •  New job, new city, new hopes and new challenges.
  • Karlsruhe, the first city where I lived during my initial Germany days.
  • Tough time finding an apartment.
  • No internet at home
June:
  • Lot of sun – fighting Karlsruhe’s heat with my newly bought table fan.
  • Even hotter at work – I am sitting on a hot plate – No idea what is my new job all about.
  • Learning new technologies and several communications protocols.
  • Weekend in London with Charu, akka & mama.
  • First visit to South west France – Poitiers, France.
  • Love this 330 KMPH French TGV trains – when will India have such trains, sigh!
  • Learning and playing my first song in my newly bought guitar.
July:
  • Several Business trips to France. Like this French work culture.
  • My boss is very cool; he acknowledged my work by waiving the probationary period.
  •  Flying to India for the second time this year.
  • My sister is getting engaged – happy for her – love her a lot.
  • Awesome trip to Tirumala, Tirupati with JP – enjoyed driving my car all the way.
  • We had a wonderful dharshan – lord Balaji taught us the law of redefined PATIENCE.
August:
  • Terribly busy at work
  • Happy birthday DADDY, you mean a lot.
  • Couple of business trips to France.
  • Envy my colleagues – most of them are on vacation.
  • Missing the overseas telephone calls and very less people around me. Feeling lonely.
September:
  • Again in France for official meetings and presentations.
  •  French trains are on strike, stuck in Strasbourg :-(
  • I hate the passport control in French-German border, can’t afford to lose my early morning sleep.
  •  I understand my work better now. Getting more productive.
  • Equally I understand the complexity of my TODO tasks – an endless ever-growing list of activities.
  • Summer is concluding
October:
  • Just completed my 26th revolution around the Sun. Loads of wishes from family & friends.
  • Colored trees all around and loads of dead leaves.
  • Walk ways are now the grave yards for these beautiful yellowish maple leaves.
  •  Business trips to France and Netherlands.
  • Amsterdam is colorful and Schiphol is crowded.
  • Weekend with Charu in London.
  • Stuck in Baden, Ryanair flies to all the junk airports of Germany.
  • 20€ is missing from my wallet, just back from Enthiran movie.
  •   Finally cleared my European driver’s license theory exam
  •  Off to India for 2 weeks.
November:
  • In India, for my sister’s marriage.
  • Sweat poured off - Loads of work at home, preparations for the marriage.
  • India teaches me enormous Patience and tolerance. I am strictly in “India Mode”
  • New Delhi’s new terminal taught me a very good lesson; I will never fly Air India again. I lost track of the word punctuality. Nevertheless kept myself cool and was never angry.
  • Back in Germany – winter intensified. Leafless trees around.
  • Drenched in the year’s first snow.
  • Another Business trip to Poitiers, France – wondering how I will manage 2 weeks with Gestural language.
December:
  • My refrigerator is warmer than the outside temperature.
  • Heavier snowfall and slippery pathways.
  • Still in France, amidst bad weather. Working from 8am to 8pm.
  • Official Christmas dinner.
  •  I am lucky to board my flight as scheduled amid bad weather conditions.
  • Witnessed the New Year celebrations near Big Ben, London amidst heavy commotion.
-> Wishing you all a wonderful New Year 2011 <-
