The year 2010 has been a very vibrant, challenging and meaningful for me. Here I try to log some important moments of them.
January:
- Starting the New Year at home with parents & sister; went to temple to seek blessings and lot of wishes to accomplish in the just born New Year.
- This is my maiden visit to home in 2 years, after I moved to Germany for my higher education. Went as a student now back home as a fresh graduate.
- Pongal celebrations were at its best. Still missing our ancestor’s (grandfather’s) agriculture land where we host a big fest and celebrations with our farm employees.
- My Mummy’s birthday and she is getting younger :-)
- Escaped Germany’s intense winter
February:
- Back in Germany. COLD, COLDER, COLDEST…
- Same old Freising town, Harinath, a wonderful friend, is my host for a few days.
- Back in same old apartment
- Full time unemployed – I call it as full time job hunter
March:
- Deeply concentrating on my job hunt
- Refreshing subjects and previous projects
- Love this late night telephone calls with Friends all over the globe.
- Plan B – to get back to Bangalore and find a job.
- Couple of interviews calls and a lot of rejections as well.
- Working in weekends to cover my bills.
April:
- Had a wonderful break in Vienna, Austria
- Couple of travels through Germany for interviews
- Loads of ripen apples in my Garden – no time to pick and eat
- Finally got the news, I got a JOB
- Employment legal formalities begins
- Signs of summer
May:
- New job, new city, new hopes and new challenges.
- Karlsruhe, the first city where I lived during my initial Germany days.
- Tough time finding an apartment.
- No internet at home
June:
- Lot of sun – fighting Karlsruhe’s heat with my newly bought table fan.
- Even hotter at work – I am sitting on a hot plate – No idea what is my new job all about.
- Learning new technologies and several communications protocols.
- Weekend in London with Charu, akka & mama.
- First visit to South west France – Poitiers, France.
- Love this 330 KMPH French TGV trains – when will India have such trains, sigh!
- Learning and playing my first song in my newly bought guitar.
July:
- Several Business trips to France. Like this French work culture.
- My boss is very cool; he acknowledged my work by waiving the probationary period.
- Flying to India for the second time this year.
- My sister is getting engaged – happy for her – love her a lot.
- Awesome trip to Tirumala, Tirupati with JP – enjoyed driving my car all the way.
- We had a wonderful dharshan – lord Balaji taught us the law of redefined PATIENCE.
August:
- Terribly busy at work
- Happy birthday DADDY, you mean a lot.
- Couple of business trips to France.
- Envy my colleagues – most of them are on vacation.
- Missing the overseas telephone calls and very less people around me. Feeling lonely.
September:
- Again in France for official meetings and presentations.
- French trains are on strike, stuck in Strasbourg :-(
- I hate the passport control in French-German border, can’t afford to lose my early morning sleep.
- I understand my work better now. Getting more productive.
- Equally I understand the complexity of my TODO tasks – an endless ever-growing list of activities.
- Summer is concluding
October:
- Just completed my 26th revolution around the Sun. Loads of wishes from family & friends.
- Colored trees all around and loads of dead leaves.
- Walk ways are now the grave yards for these beautiful yellowish maple leaves.
- Business trips to France and Netherlands.
- Amsterdam is colorful and Schiphol is crowded.
- Weekend with Charu in London.
- Stuck in Baden, Ryanair flies to all the junk airports of Germany.
- 20€ is missing from my wallet, just back from Enthiran movie.
- Finally cleared my European driver’s license theory exam
- Off to India for 2 weeks.
November:
- In India, for my sister’s marriage.
- Sweat poured off - Loads of work at home, preparations for the marriage.
- India teaches me enormous Patience and tolerance. I am strictly in “India Mode”
- New Delhi’s new terminal taught me a very good lesson; I will never fly Air India again. I lost track of the word punctuality. Nevertheless kept myself cool and was never angry.
- Back in Germany – winter intensified. Leafless trees around.
- Drenched in the year’s first snow.
- Another Business trip to Poitiers, France – wondering how I will manage 2 weeks with Gestural language.
December:
- My refrigerator is warmer than the outside temperature.
- Heavier snowfall and slippery pathways.
- Still in France, amidst bad weather. Working from 8am to 8pm.
- Official Christmas dinner.
- I am lucky to board my flight as scheduled amid bad weather conditions.
- Witnessed the New Year celebrations near Big Ben, London amidst heavy commotion.
